This role’s primary function is to oversee the record keeping and reporting functions for the University, as well as overseeing the operations of the billing and collection, accounts payable, and university purchasing card teams within the Financial Operations department. This position also plays a key roll in preparation of management information including analytical reports, reports, trends, and leading operational indicators. This role will lead in the coordination and preparation for annual audits and will be called upon from time to time to present reports to the Finance Committee and Audit and Risk Committee of the University Board of Trustees. This role is expected to keep their fingers on the pulse of all University activity and to act as a set of eyes and ears in communicating issues, trends, and results as appropriate.
Direct the overall Controller's group functions, including but not limited to the following: Oversight of coordination of the annual audit with outside accountants; monitor and ensure adherence to accounting standards and GAAP and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures; ensure integrity of the internal controls; oversight of the tax reporting; grant reporting and associated compliance.
Direct the overall Student Financial Services, Accounts Payable and Purchasing Card administrative functions for the University, including but not limited to the following: Oversight of invoicing and billing processes, controls, and systems; oversight of student service matters; monitor and ensure adherence to student and vendor tax reporting and other compliance matters; and oversight of vendor payment process and systems.
Responsible for the hiring, coaching, development and performance review of the staff.

Bachelors Degree required.
10+ years of work experience required.
Experience working with multi-functional teams across an organization.
Problem-solving, organizational, analytical and presentation skills required.

Comfortable with ambiguity and change.
Ability to lead cross functional teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
CPA or MBA preferred.
