Carnegie Mellon University's department of Business Applications Support is searching for a Business Systems Manager. This is an excellent opportunity if you thrive in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing leadership in the day-to-day oversight of the business system help desk staff and operations, coordinating the resolution of advanced issues, and building effective reciprocal relationships with campus partners and internal finance departments.
Core responsibilities will include:
Trains and assists lower level support staff with resolving issues related to all systems supported by the Help Desk, including Oracle Financials, the Financial Data Warehouse, ECM, Cashnet and the Purchasing Card program to ensure quality and consistency. Monitor statistics in order to collaborate with system analysts, finance training team, or other key central Finance staff members to improve customer experience. Enhance user support documentation as it relates to the Help Desk function. Oversee the division's ServiceNow implementation and recommend areas for improvement.
Develops and manages critical relationships within Finance and Computing Services to participate in disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives. Assists with Excel4Apps support and user groups. Handle testing and implementation of technical components that affect Oracle Financials and/or the Financial Data Warehouse and/or other systems, including JRE upgrades and web browser support.
Research, evaluate, and recommend tools, processes, programs, and techniques to provide improved technical and functional support of financial system users. Provide information for user and transactional audits as requested. Serve on University committees and other special projects as assigned.
Supervises support staff to include hiring and training of new staff, performance management initiatives and appraisals, and functions as a team leader to coach, develop and motivate peers.

Demonstrated knowledge of SQL and Oracle query tools, enterprise-wide financial systems, and understanding of technology architecture highly desired.
