A boutique, wealth management company located in Fairfield, New Jersey is looking for a detail-oriented financial planner/analyst who can grow with our firm. The role involves creating and updating comprehensive financial plans and investment portfolios for individuals, families, corporations and other entities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist Senior Advisors on the preparation and delivery of comprehensive financial plans for multi-generational clients through:
Detailed data gathering
Analysis of clients’ financial data including insurance, investments, and budgets
Reviewing and summarizing legal documents including trust documents and wills
Modeling a variety of scenarios pertaining to various life events including but not limited to retirement planning, education financing, and estate planning
Identify and provide suggestions on enhancing a client’s financial plan with strategies that are suitable to the client based on goals, resources, time horizon and risk tolerance
Maintain and update existing financial plans
Work with planning and investment department to balance requests from firm advisors across multiple locations and actively monitor the queue of outstanding financial plans and meetings
Provides ongoing support including but not limited to reviews, transactions, etc. for our existing client base

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities
Proficient computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point) are essential
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Strong time management and organizational skills; able to work independently and effectively manage multiple tasks at once
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to quickly master tools of the industry – financial planning software, analytical tools and broker/dealer or custodian systems
Familiarity with eMoney/Money Guide Pro, Envestnet/Assetmark, Morningstar Advisor Workstation is preferred but not required
Broad understanding of financial services, tax, investments and planning strategies.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field
The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in the financial services industry allowing for a strong understanding of broker/dealer operations and financial services, products, including but not limited to: equities, bonds, options, mutual funds, annuities, insurance, and managed accounts
Previous experience in the independent financial services culture preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registration
Series 7, 66 and Life & Health (or in progress) preferred
CFP (or in progress) preferred
