Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Assistant Director of Advancement Services, Finance and Gifts supervises and assists in processes related to gift and pledge recording, receipting and acknowledging for the division of college advancement. The assistant director supervises one gift recorder and is the primary liaison between the Office of Financial Operations and Advancement Services. The assistant director has a strong understanding of non-profit fundraising, database functionality, accounting and financial reconciliation practices. He or she ensures all gift acceptance practices adhere to IRS and CASE guidelines.
Supervise all aspects of gift processing including cash handling, gift and pledge entry, transaction adjustments, matching gift applications, electronic and stock gift processing. Continuously monitor, document, and recommend improvements to gift and pledge entry procedures to improve data accuracy and procedural efficiency.
Supervise the gift recorder, providing training and mentorship, completing performance evaluations and approving timesheets.
Maintain an understanding of IRS regulations, CASE reporting standards and management guidelines, and the college’s gift acceptance policies as they pertain to gift recording and receipting.
Act as the primary liaison with Financial Operations for College Advancement, effectively communicating and translating
