B.E. Blank & Company (“B.E. Blank & Co LP” or “the Firm”) is seeking a high caliber accounting professional who is passionate about building institutional-quality loan portfolio servicing operations for an investment management firm.
The Senior Financial Analyst will work directly with the Firm’s Director of Risk Management and Chief Financial Officer to inform decision-making in all aspects of the Firm’s loan servicing and asset management operations. The Senior Financial Analyst is a client-facing role, requiring the candidate to foster good working relationships with borrowers in the Firm’s loan portfolio, then leveraging those relationships to achieve timely required reporting and payments. The Senior Financial Analyst must be internally driven and relentless in bringing open items to closure, while maintaining professionalism and a positive relationship with the law firm borrowers. A successful Senior Financial Analyst will take ownership of initiatives to create, improve, and implement audit, covenant compliance, loan servicing, and other compliance systems that will support the Firm as it grows into a world-class investment manager with a best-in-class employee culture.

On average, the Senior Financial Analyst is expected to work approximately 40 hours per week. Manage the Firm’s relationships with a growing portfolio of law firm borrowers through email and telephone communications
Perform asset management functions on our loan portfolio, including overseeing monthly repayment processes and ensuring law firm borrower compliance with the Fund’s transactional documents
Audit law firm borrowers’ operating and trust account bank statements
Ensure best accounting, operational, and compliance practices through the development and enhancement of written protocols and procedures
Liaise with the Firm’s Director of Risk Management, Chief Financial Officer, and other team members as relevant to loan compliance functions

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND MINDSET
A successful candidate will have at least an undergraduate degree, and may also have a graduate degree, with a course specialization in accounting, finance and related subjects
A successful candidate will have at least three to five years of directly relevant experience in auditing or covenant compliance monitoring at a public accounting firm or commercial bank
A successful candidate will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as an uncompromising attention to detail
A successful candidate will be able to manage herself/himself, and take an organized and disciplined approach to managing the collection and review of borrower reporting
A successful candidate will have the maturity and judgment necessary to professionally communicate with borrowers to advance the Firm’s interests while maintaining a positive working relationship
A Certified Public Accounting (CPA) designation is a plus, but not a requirement
Public service experience, including service with the armed forces, in government, or in the non-profit sector is a plus, but not a requirement
