Carnegie Mellon University's Master of Science in Computational Finance (MSCF) Program is a unique joint venture between four colleges and is widely regarded as one of the nation's best quantitative finance programs. It is administratively housed in the Tepper School of Business, a top-ranked comprehensive business school well-known for its academic rigor and focus on analytical leadership. The MSCF program is searching for an Executive Director to lead and manage its operations across the two campuses in Pittsburgh and New York City.
Your core responsibilities will include:
Operating in a competitive environment, this position is responsible for all aspects of the management of the program and for leading new projects and program initiatives including strategic planning, the marketing of the program to prospective students and corporate recruiters (e.g., advertisements and website/brochure content), fundraising, capital budgeting and financial control of the program, developing and implementing procedures and policies, curriculum enhancements, meeting technological needs, alumni relations, admissions process and admissions decisions, class scheduling, student advising and all related student issues.
Accountability for key program metrics including enrollment outcomes, class composition and overall student quality, employment outcomes, student satisfaction, and other quantitative deliverables.
Managing a team of staff members at the Pittsburgh and New York City campuses.
Working closely with the MSCF Steering Committee (comprised of this position and one academic member from Dietrich College, Heinz College, Mellon College, and the Tepper School) via a dotted-line relationship to develop and oversee policies, procedures and strategic initiatives including, but not limited to, curriculum, program design, placement, academic actions and scheduling.
Regular contact with associates, faculty, students at MSCF's Pittsburgh and New York City locations, university administrators, MSCF and CMU alumni and financial executives.
Act persuasively and professionally with alumni, potential corporate sponsors, prospective students and the senior financial executives serving on the MSCF Advisory Board.
Exercise financial oversight of the program.
Other duties as assigned.

A master's degree from an accredited higher education institution is required. An advanced degree is preferred.
10 years of financial industry experience including 3-5 years of supervisory experience required.
Familiarity with computational methods in the financial industry and ability to understand and market the program to industry participants and/or experience in an academic setting is preferred.
A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
